57f44c7e-21b8-4eba-94f2-f9d8e01a56e7We are happy to be working with Louay Habib, an International Sailing Journalist who joined us for the 2014 edition as he has a very strong liking for Grenada.  We are looking to attract new boats as well as welcoming back our loyal friends and it seems to be working.  With Louay’s coverage, additional international advertising, online campaigns, boat show representation and much more, the Island Water World Grenada Sailing Week 2015 hopes to achieve their 45/50 boat target.

The Courses are the main focus at the moment as we are hoping that the racing class will be bigger, attract more boats to the cruising class and the classic class will continue to develop.  Plus, we hope we will at least have one single type class of either J-24’s or a class specifically for RORC boats.  With the ARC, RORC Transatlantic plus Classic Transatlantic we certainly want to entice them to compete in Grenada to get ready for the rest of the Caribbean season.  Our Wet Committee is busy finalising the courses and has asked a few past participants from different race categories to their meetings, so that all possible challenges are considered.

We are looking forward to the return of our Race Committee friends in Trinidad, headed by Zarna Rostant, who will be assisting Race Officer, James Benoit.  International Judge Harry Keith will head the Protest Committee comprising Mike Rostant and Jimmy Bristol.  Bastien Pouthier, is our Official CSA Measurer and Luiz Kahl, owner of Yacht Scoring, will be assisting with all the online registrations and scoring.
