Antigua Sailing Week is delighted to announce that Sunsail is back on board for Antigua Sailing Week 2016 as the official bareboat yacht charter sponsor.

Of the continued sponsorship Brittany Riley, Marketing Manager for North and South America, says: “Sunsail is happy to renew its ongoing sponsorship of Antigua Sailing Week, a regatta that always draws very competitive participation in its bareboat fleet which inevitably sells out each year. We enjoy spending the week with clients from around the globe as they compete year after year.”

Anyone who has raced in Antigua Sailing Week’s bareboat fleets knows that they are often dominated by participants who return annually and who race competitively back home in readiness for their journey to Antigua. With at least three bareboat classes, Antigua Sailing Week is able to offer challenging racing for all types of bareboats on courses ideally suited to them and managed by the regatta’s professional race management team.

Riley goes on to say: “It is important to us to work with regattas that have a strong environmental standard because Sunsail’s focus is to ensure our partner regattas and their participants are held to the highest environmental efforts. Antigua Sailing Week has set an ongoing goal for itself of maintaining the highest possible environmental standards which is very important to us as a company.” The sustainability objectives are managed by the local non-governmental organisations that have been and are working diligently with Sailors for the Sea as part of its clean regattas program.

Sunsail bareboats for Antigua Sailing Week are now sold out from the Antigua base, but participants wishing to race have the option of chartering from the fleets in St Maarten and the British Virgin Islands. Options include having a boat delivered to Antigua with charterers joining the boat there, or joining the boat in its island of origin and extending the vacation by cruising to and from Antigua before and after the event. The latter is a choice many recent bareboat participants have made in order to maximise their enjoyment of the pristine Antiguan and Caribbean waters and beaches.
