St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Organizers of the St. Thomas International Regatta (STIR) regret to announce the postponement of the 2020 event, originally scheduled for March 27-29. This difficult decision has been made in line with health and safety recommendations taken by the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are truly sorry to have to postpone one of the Caribbean’s premier events,” says regatta director, Bill Canfield. “We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our stalwart sponsors, including the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, for their wonderful support. Most sincerely, we look forward to welcoming our local, regional, national and international sailors at a future date and showing everyone why ‘we love it here, you will too’.”

STIR organizers and the Commodore and Board of Directors of the host, St. Thomas Yacht Club, encourages everyone to stay safe and minimize risk by following public health mandates during this global health crisis. Updates will be published on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/stirvi and website: www.stthomasinternationalregatta.com as information becomes available.
