Announcement for the Rescheduling of the VIODA Regatta

As we all know, VIODA regatta is one of the 3 regattas that make up the TRIPLE CROWN. The date originally announced for VIODA was April 1 -2. Unfortunately, on the same date of BVI SPRING REAGATTA, BVI most important fundraising event of the year for their opti program and they need the participation of all of their opti sailors.  Because of this schedule conflict and acknowledging that BVI is part of the TRIPLE CROWN with St. Thomas and St. Croix, VIODA rescheduled the event to the only available weekend: April 8 – 9, 2017.

The VIODA regatta will take place on April 8 and 9 of 2017 in Great Bay, St. Thomas. Everyone will be launching from the STYC on Saturday morning and due to a previously scheduled event at St. Thomas Yacht Club on Saturday, that requires the dock and the club installations to be free, boats will not be able to return to the Club before Sunday afternoon.  Award ceremony will take place at the STYC on Sunday. Please note that parent and support boats will not be able to dock at STYC on Saturday after launching and until Sunday morning because of said event.

The Water Point Property Owners Association have approved the overnight storage of the optis at Skinny Beach (Great Bay) on Saturday night. Boats traveling from BVI, St. Croix or Puerto Rico may find Christmas Cove convenient to moor Saturday night.
