St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. There’s nothing more important than time when it comes to competitive sailing – and winning! Therefore, organizers of the Round the Rocks Race, set for March 24, and the St. Thomas International Regatta (STIR), set for March 25 to 27, are pleased to announce that class winners will be awarded spectacular limited edition Virgin Islands timepieces created by Cardow Jewelers. Cardow, founded in 1954 and offering the largest selection of jewelry under one roof in St. Thomas, has produced an exceptional line of Island Watches known for their distinct U.S. Virgin Islands chronographs representing cosmopolitan St. Thomas, historic St. Croix and pristine St. John. The timepieces are a product of Swiss craftsmanship and Virgin Islands design.

Cardow time piece“The watch line stands as a tribute to the innovation of the Virgin Islands, each being a limited edition and numbered timepiece locally designed and assembled. The watches are built both for every day wear and extreme water sports – water resistant, scratch resistant sapphire crystal, shock resistant, with a working chronograph and stop watch. The watches also have date functions, luminous hands to help read at night or in the water, and a limited lifetime warranty,” says Cardow’s Carolina de Lyrot.

Class winners in the Round the Rocks Race will be awarded The Love City, named after the infamously relaxed island of St. John.

The Squall and the Tradewinds will be presented to class winners in the St. Thomas International Regatta.

“We are pleased to partner with the U.S. Virgin Islands’ own Cardow Jewelers to present these magnificent timepieces to our winners. The St. Thomas International Regatta has been defined by quality timepieces for over four decades and we are delighted to continue this tradition with the new twist of giving our sailors a unique piece of the islands to take home. May these timepieces remind this year’s winners when it’s time to return for STIR 2017 and bring even more of friends to race,” says regatta director, Chuck Pessler.

Each Island Watch supports the Virgin Islands, as the only watch designed and assembled in the Virgin Islands by a local company. All Island Watches are limited edition time pieces provided with international warranties and Cardow Customer Service support. Island Watches will be on display in the Clubhouse at St. Thomas Yacht Club during the regatta.
