The CSA is excited to announce that the Caribbean Dinghy Championships (CDC) to be hosted by St. Maarten Yacht Club October 7-9, 2016 is now fully subscribed.  The six-team event will include teams from St. Maarten (host), British Virgin Islands (defending champion), Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Anguilla and St. Barths.  This is the first time in recent history that St. Barths and Anguilla will participate in the Championships.

St. Maarten Yacht Club’s Sailing Coach and event host, Neil Maher, is very excited about the regatta:  ‘I am very excited to be hosting the CDC.  We are working flat out at the moment to try to deliver the best event possible!  We are very excited to have so many strong teams coming and particularly excited to have our neighbouring islands of Anguilla and St. Barths competing for the first time.’

Teams are busy putting their plans in place for attending the event and participants are very excited as well.  Alec Scarabelli of Team St. Maarten said:  ‘I’ve always dreamt of winning the CDC in my country.  Now this year I have the opportunity to compete and will try to do my best to make my country proud.’

The Notice of Race and information about the CDC can be found on the Caribbean Sailing Association website:  https://caribbean-sailing.com/sailing-development/2016-caribbean-dinghy-championships/.
