GSW 2015 1

A very successful 3rd edition of this start of the year regatta took place from 29 Jan to 3 Feb 2015, with smooth water on the west coast and bigger seas on the south coast of Grenada make a challenging mix of sailing conditions.

With more boats participating (39 registered from 11 countries), more classes racing (J24 One Design Class was added this year), more spinnakers flying, courses better customized to specific class needs, separate start and finish boats for increased efficiency and the weather playing ball, the 2015 edition was another step forward in establishing this regatta firmly on the Caribbean racing circuit. After race entertainment was also taken to another level, with the first ever Grenada Sailing Week Music Fest on the Saturday night, with 4 top Grenadian bands performing.

GSW 2015 2

The location of this event in one of the Caribbean’s cleanest, safest and friendliest islands, where racers and cruisers are made to feel extremely welcome by all, including those running the country, is one of its best selling points, also the ever growing range and depth of marine and tourism services available. It is a great way to get your crew into sharp racing mode for the rest of the season. Next year’s dates are 28 Jan to 2 Feb 2016 – for more details check the website www.grenadasailingweek.com, or contact the organizers at info@grenadasailingweek.com.
