Kool and the Gang and Tessanne Chin performing at the 35th St.Maarten Heineken Regatta
Simpson Bay, St.Maarten (December 9th, 2014) St.Maarten Heineken Regatta is pleased to announce that Kool and the Gang will be performing for the upcoming 2015 event. The roster for this anniversary edition is filling up quickly and organizers are excited to announce that this internationally known band, which has been performing continually for 35 years, will grace the Regatta stage on Sunday March 8th, 2015. If Grammy Award winning performers aren’t enough, on Saturday March 7th, the main stage will be dominated by musical powerhouse Tessanne Chin, winner of The Voice USA 2013. Sailors and spectators alike will be treated to a variety of music over the course of three days and four nights.
Saturday night’s energetic performer, Jamaican born Tessanne Chin, is no stranger to the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta stage. She first performed during the 2012 event alongside her sister Tami Chin, delivering a heart pounding, body moving performance. Since then her career has taken off, and in 2013 Tessanne was the winner of The Voice USA, blowing away the competition. Her rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, soared to #1 on the ITunes Overall Song chart, a first time for the show since its inception.
