As the demand for yacht transport in the Caribbean increases, Antigua Sailing Week is delighted to confirm a sponsorship deal with global marine transport company Peters & May.

Peters & May provides worldwide yacht transport services to many premier race teams, super-yachts and manufacturers, as well as private boat owners – moving more than 4,000 boats each year. Of the sponsorship Operations Director Craig Stanbury, commented: “With its end of season calendar slot, Antigua Sailing Week is the perfect event for us to partner with. With our dates now set to transport out after Antigua Sailing Week, it means yachts can again compete in the week-long event and not have to worry about sailing out to another island to prepare for shipping.”

The loading windows for 2016 are:
5th May – 20th May 2016: Antigua to Southampton
5th May – 20th May 2016: Antigua to Genoa/Palma

An additional shipping option is also scheduled from the USA to leave Miami after Key West Race Week arriving in Antigua in good time to race in the RORC Caribbean 600.

Of the new partnership Antigua Sailing Week’s Commercial Director, Alison Sly-Adams, is very positive: “During the last ten years we have seen a number of external as well as internal factors affect Antigua Sailing Week, with the lack of end of season shipping being a significant issue. With the changes to the race format and schedule made by Kathy Lammers and the Regatta Organising Committee over the last five years, the on-the-water feedback has been tremendous. Being able to guarantee shipping out of Antigua post-event will significantly simplify logistics for our participants, a change that we wholeheartedly welcome!”
