SCYC is currently seeking to fill an additional full time sailing instructor/coach position.
St Croix Yacht Club (SCYC) is located on the Eastern end of the picturesque island of St Croix in the US Virgin Islands, the Club enjoys a year round sailing program in consistently ideal conditions. Our diverse fleet of more than 60 skiffs, keel boats and support boats, including Optis, Lasers, Sunfish, C420s, 29ers and Rhodes 19s and is kept active by an awesome group of sailors.
Responsibilities
- Intro & GF Opti as part of after school program
- Junior sailing instruction in 420s, Lasers and Sunfish
- Adult lessons in skiffs and small keel boats
- Private lessons as scheduled
- Assist with fleet asset maintenance and repairs
Qualifications
- Great leadership skills, highly organized, self-motivated and patient
- Excellent communication skills: a large part of this position will be communicating with parents, sailors, yacht club members and co-workers respectfully and effectively
- US Sailing Level 1 or higher certification (or equivalent)
- Excellent personal power boating and sailing skills
- Prefer diverse sailing background and instructing experience with juniors and adults in a range of boat classes.
