Successful 11th International Puerto Rico Heineken Regatta

After two days of intense competition , completely clear skies and about 300 sailors of all ages flaunting their talent at sea, the Puerto Rico Heineken International Regatta ( PRHIR ) and the Puerto Rico International Dinghy Regatta , held at the marina Puerto del Rey in Fajardo , finished with excellent results.

The second and final day of racing began shortly before 11 am with another spectacular day , this time , had a little more wind , which allowed access to the sea of the three categories of Kites , who made PRHIR his debut . Already after 2 pm began arriving ships and navy participants after completing the various courses of competition . While international judges deliberated , the sailors anxiously awaited the awards ceremony , where trophies made by the craftsman Puerto Angel Lorenzana and $ 10,000 to be divided among all categories would be given .

Spinnaker – among the winners of the Dark Star PRHIR boat captained by Jonathan Lipuseck in the category CSA was. Among other results, the IC- 24 category the first place went Orion Fraíto Lugo, in the category Jib and Main A won first place Edgar Hernandez with his boat Yaredly del Mar , while Jib and Main B led Luis Santos the Wanderer, and in the category Raya boat, Gil Godreau won Aguila IV . In the categories of middle sailing, sailor Enrique ” Quique ” Figueroa and young Alexandra Lugo took first place after a close battle with team Jolliam Berrios and Francisco ” Faccio ” Figueroa , who took second place .

Both the Puerto Rico Heineken International Regatta and the International Dinghy Regatta Puerto Rico participated on 75 boats. Weather conditions were optimal for browsing during the two days of racing .
