The Round Martinique Regatta (CMA) announced more than 40 boats preparing for the start of the 33rd edition on the 10, 11 and 12 February!

An official press conference for the launch of the Round Martinique Regatta was held recently at the Yacht Club of Martinique.

The level of participation reflects a growing craze
This new edition will host over 40 boats larger than 24 feet (7.3 meters) and nearly 260 sailors will sail around Martinique in exceptional weather conditions with steady trade winds. The format introduced in 2016, with two distinct paths respectively for racing yachts divided into 4 classes (Racing, Melges 24, Surprise Cruising and Racing) and cruising sailboats (Cruising), will combine sea skills and earth friendliness.

The cruise category contributes greatly to the enthusiasm aroused by this sporting event more important. It will sail in coastal waters of the south of Martinique between Fort-de-France and Marin.

A 33 th edition and raised heavily Caribbean
This historic event of the Martinique regatta calendar falls each year more as a necessary part of the South-North transhumance that animates the circuit of Caribbean regattas between January and May (1).

The Round Martinique Regatta announces a high level of competition, with 20% of crews from Grenada, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia and St. Martin. We must also say that the Racing class (2) with almost 50% of Caribbean ships, will be one of the most animated. The spectacle and suspense will be present, as always, thanks to Melges 24 classes monotypes and Surprise.
