The Optimist World Championship is the world’s largest youth sailing competition and this year Antigua is smashing the world record for the number of countries in a single class regatta as the addition of Lithuania means we now have 65 countries coming to Antigua.
The start of the competition will be marked by a large cultural parade on the 7th July. The parade will make its way through the streets of English Harbour to the historic venue of Nelson’s Dockyard. All 65 teams will be parading with their flags alongside volunteers, supporters and entertainers.
